What is the typical turn-around time for peptide synthesis?
Peptides are generally shipped within 4-6 weeks of receipt of the purchase order. Some time delivery of the peptide is not guaranteed on stipulated time due to conformational restriction and restriction due to sequence specific hindrance.

How can I place my order?
Orders are accepted by fax, snail mail or email. Please provide the following information while ordering:

1. Sequence of peptide
2. Quantity and level of purity require
3. Modifications or special services if required
4. Valid purchase order number
5. Billing address and shipping address
6. Name, phone number and email I.D of the end user
7. Name and phone number of the purchasing agent

How peptides are delivered? What kind of data will be provided?

Peptides are delivered in lyophilized form. With each synthetic peptide we provide analytical HPLC chromatogram and mass spectrum to prove the desired purity and identity of the peptide respectively. Final quantity delivered is based on gross weight unless specified otherwise. Amino acid analysis or sequencing data(optional with additional charges)

What purity should be enough for my application?
We offer diverse purity range from crude to >97%. You can opt for any grade depending on your experiment.

What is the purity of crude peptide?
Crude peptide is delivered in the form as it is synthesized. No purity level can be guaranteed although HPLC is provided and mass will carry the peak of desired compound other impurities may also get reflected in mass.

How do I store peptides?
The long-term storage of peptides presents a different problem. Lyophilized peptides generally have excellent stabilities (in most cases, lyophilized powders can be stored for years at -10ºC or lower temperatures with little or no degradation). Peptides are often hygroscopic. The absorption of moisture may decrease the stability and reduce the overall product quality. To avoid this vial should always be tightly sealed and when preparing for use, peptide should be allowed to attain the room temperature before opening the vial. Peptides in solution are much less stable than lyophilized peptides. For best results, follow these guidelines: It is recommended that the stock solution be aliquoted upon arrival to prevent degradation caused by repeated thawing and freezing. Thaw only what is needed and the remainder of the stock should be stored dry at ?20 ° C. Maintain peptides in an oxygen-free environment as peptides containing cysteine, methionine, tryptophan, glutamine, and asparagine are susceptible to oxidation and have limited shelf life. For maximum stability, store the sample at -20°C in a buffer solution with pH 5 to 7.

How to dissolve my peptide?
Peptides can have widely varying solubility properties, depending largely on their primary sequence. Many peptides dissolve easily in water, whereas some, especially those containing multiple hydrophobic amino acid residues, may not readily dissolve. As a general procedure, we recommend attempting to reconstitute peptides in sterile distilled water with sonication if necessary. If solubility is still a problem, addition of a small amount of dilutes (approximately 10%) aqueous acetic acid (for basic peptides) or aqueous ammonia (for acidic peptides) may facilitate dissolution of the peptide. It may initially be desirable to determine solubility on an aliquot of the total sample. The buffer of choice should only be added after the peptide is fully in solution, since salts may promote aggregation and therefore create solubility problems.

Is there any limitation on the length of peptides that can be achieved?
In our standard routine peptide synthesis expertise we offer custom service for peptides ranging from 2 to app. 50mer. Standard stepwise solid phase procedures provide access to most of the peptides in range from 5 to 50 amino acids in length. If you want to synthesize peptide much longer, it will be our pleasure to discuss your special needs in detail.

What if I am not satisfied with the delivered peptide?
BioConcept guarantees the synthesis of your peptide to meet all listed specifications. If you are not completely satisfied, will either credit your account, or remake your peptides at no additional charge. Notification of potential problem has to be made within 7 days of receipt of the peptide.

Can you give guarantee that my ordered peptide will be synthesized?
Synthesis of peptide cannot be guaranteed in some of the cases due to conformational restriction and restriction due to sequence specific hindrance on that case BioConcept will not be liable for your experimental delay.

What is net weight and peptide content?
Peptides are normally delivered as fluffy lyophilized material. Due to the nature of the peptides, they may still contain traces of moisture and counter ions on protonated amino functions (N-terminus, Arg, His, Lys, etc.). This is not considered an impurity, but reduces the actual peptide content by approximately 10 to 30%. The net peptide weight is the actual weight of the peptide minus the additional weight from residual moisture and counter ions. In order to ensure accurate peptide concentrations, the non-peptide weight needs to be considered and substracted from the gross peptide weight. An accurate determination of the peptide net weight can be performed by quantitative amino acid analysis, which is also available upon request.

Does BioConcept provide the modification I need?
We provide no. of well established peptide modifications like acetylation, biotinylation, phosphorylation and attachment of fluorescent dyes and much more. We are also specialized in doing unusual modifications. It will be a pleasure to discuss your special needs in detail.

Can you give guarantee that the peptide synthesized by you will work in my experiment?
BioConcept can only give the guarantee of synthesized peptide with respect to its purity and identity by providing HPLC and Mass spectrometry data.
